P R O D U C T I O N - Brent Bodrug
Producer/songwriter Brent Bodrug draws on the diversity of his musical influences to create intelligent, innovative recordings. Great songwriting is the basis for his production style which showcases unique soundscapes and an uncommon attention to detail.
Brent studied under jazz great Oscar Peterson as his protege, and was subsequently honoured by receiving the Toronto Arts Protege Award in 1993. Brent completed a B.F.A. degree in music from York University in 1995. Following graduation, he had a successful run as a touring performer, playing piano and keyboards in various venues across Canada. Presently, Brent heads his own production company, The B-Group Music, and works full-time as a producer and songwriter developing artists from Canada and the US.
Brent has produced and/or written with artists such as Alanis Morissette (Maverick), Jacksoul (BMG), Carlos Morgan (Juno Award Winner), and Son (Warner), as well as a number of independent artists. Brent has co-written songs with such notable writers as Stefan Skarbek (James Blunt, Mel C, Sophie Ellis-Bextor), Curtis Richardson (J. Lo, 3LW), Jeremy Ruzumna (Macy Gray), Dean McTaggart (Amanda Marshall), Stan Meissner (Celine Dion, Starship), Marc Jordan (Rod Stewart), John Capek (Rough Trade, Rod Stewart), Eddie Schwartz (Pat Benetar, Rascal Flatts), Rob Wells (Backstreet Boys, Nick Lachey, Canadian Idol), Jason Blume (Britney Spears), Blair Mackichan (Lisa Stansfield, SIA, Alison Moyet, Deep Forest), Rupert Gayle (Keisha Chante, Shawn Desman), Ben Dunk (Wave), Ash Alexander (Tricky, All Saints), Robbie Patterson (Snow, McMaster and James), James Robertson (Skye Sweetnam), Matt Hales (Aqualung), Luke McMaster (McMaster and James), Dan Broadbeck (The Salads, Jersey, Headstrong), Kelly Levesque (The Neptunes, Walter Afanasieff), and Rebecca Valadez (Janet Jackson).
